Ariel Winter looked absolutely stunning at the SAG Awards on Saturday (Jan. 30), but people on the internet were fixated on one aspect of her appearance: her scars.

Back in 2015, the "Modern Family" actress underwent breast reduction surgery, going from a size 32F to a 34D. "It was so painful," she said in an interview with Glamour. "I really couldn’t stand up straight for a long period of time. It started to hurt so bad that I couldn’t take the pain."

After following through with the decision, Winter was pleased with the results and had a quick recovery. Now, trying on clothes was a lot less stressful.

Fast-forward to Jan. 2016, Winter was completely rockin' it at the SAG awards. But some people felt like she needed to cover up her breast reduction scars. She gave the perfect response as to why she shouldn't have to hide them.

Luckily, a ton of people were supportive of her decision not to hide her scars, and a few shared their own experiences on Twitter.

Winter recently celebrated her 18th birthday on Jan. 28 and thanked fans for their well wishes and sweet remarks. She may only be 18, but she's already wise beyond her years.
