16 Hysterical Fan Reactions To 'The X-Files' Revival Premiere

Fans never stopped believing.

The last time we saw Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) in action was in the 2008 film "The X Files: I Want to Believe," six years after the cult TV show ended its nine-season run. After negative reviews about the film from critics, it felt like "The X-Files" had put out its cigarette for good. (Sorry.)

But on Sunday (Jan. 24), fans anxiously watched Mulder and Scully reunite and fall back into the groove of worrying about government conspiracies and aliens. Reviews for the premiere were mixed, but one thing was definitely certain: "The X-Files" fandom is still going strong.

Here was my personal reaction to the revival pilot, and judging by the amount of notifications I received, it seemed like everyone else felt the same way.

Check out these great reactions to "The X-Files" premiere, and prepare to start falling in love with Mulder and Scully all over again. ?

For starters, football tried to ruin everything.

The NFC championship game ran past its scheduled time and fans were not pleased about having to wait even longer to see "The X-Files" on TV again.

Scully was still the skeptic we all know and love.

And continued making us fall in love with science.

This description of Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) is spot on.

The Smoking Man really needs to get with the 21st century.

Tad O'Malley (Joel McHale) tried flirting with Scully...

...and people were NOT having it.

The alien was definitely a scene stealer.

And everyone turned into mini Mulders after hearing about the detailed ~conspiracies~.

The face Scully's made after Sveta (Annet Mahendru) told her she just "didn't understand" about alien abduction was the entire fandom's face.

Bitch, please. Have you seen Season 2, Episode 6 lately?!

If you heard a loud boom last night, it was just fans' hearts bursting after hearing Scully say, "I'm expecting a call from someone named Mulder."

Hell, even this cat didn't know how to deal with his emotions.

Remember Mulder and Scully had a son named William? Yeah :/

"'The X-Files' Abridged" viner Colleen Evanson already started on the revival series.

Finally, this was everyone last night.

The truth is still out there — it never left.
