Toy Fair 2012: Playmates Mutates More Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Figures

Toy Fair 2012: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Action Figures

A few weeks ago, MTV Geek had the honor of debuting the entire lineup of new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from Playmates Toys. While we thought it couldn't possibly get any better, during Toy Fair 2012 Playmates had a few tricks up their sleeves and unveiled 2 painted figures, an unpainted prototype, and 3 pieces of character artwork based on creatures old and new from the TMNT-universe! Naturally, upon seeing this we geeked out right there in front of the Playmates Reps, and then proceeded to take a bunch of photos. Now it's your turn!

Read on for closer looks at the upcoming figures that will give the Heroes in a Halfshell something to fight.

Metalhead

While this figure is unpainted, we wonder if he'll feature any of the vac-metalized parts of the vintage toy.

Leatherhead

While this isn't the final version of Leatherhead, it does give a basic reference to what their planning as far as his stature goes. Looks like he'll completely fill a blister card...

Baxter Stockman

The creator of the Mousers (which are curiously absent from the new line) comes equipped in a suit of battle armor. Looks like this version will follow more closely with the classic Mirage comics and not the animated series which had Baxter as not only Caucasian, but also mutated into a fly very early on.

Dogpound

Dogpound, who we've also heard called "Boneclaw" looks to have an even more distorted style than the other figures in the lineup. Luckily, much like Masters of the Universe, the TMNT figure lines can fit in almost any type of creation.

Fishface

This is a perfect example of the awesome designs for this line: a mutated fish that has grown arms, but still relies on cybernetic legs to get around on land. Genius!

Snakeweed

While this is a concept drawing, we can tell by the rest of the line's figures that Snakeweed will probably look different than this when he finally makes it into plastic. However, this horribly-taken photo does give some idea to the direction the line will be going with new characters.

To say we're excited for this line would be a serious understatement. Even with all of the figures, vehicles, and playsets that have been announced so far we're still chomping at the bit for any new info and images. Where' Casey Jones?!
