One of Ryan Gosling’s most iconic roles is that of the yearning home builder Noah Calhoun in everyone’s favorite tearjerker, “The Notebook.” But believe it or not, that’s no longer Gosling’s most romantically-charged performance. His new “Saturday Night Live” promo is.

What we have here is a love story of sorts between Gosling and “SNL” cast member Aidy Bryant, who plays the role of “woman obsessed with Ryan Gosling,” a.k.a. “all of us.” In the hilarious clip promoting Gosling’s debut hosting stint this weekend, he and Bryant get off to a bit of a rocky start when she pretends to read off a made-up cue card.

“Oh, weird, what does this card say? ‘Ryan and Aidy kiss passionately for remainder of promo?’” Bryant jokes, pretending to play it cool. “These damn writers. Well, I guess we gotta do it.”

Gosling calls her out until she fesses up, and it ultimately ends with a sweet embrace that makes Bryant the envy of millions.

In the next scene, the "Big Short" actor suggests they “bond” and sweetly compliments her strength. So they go do what strong, awesome people do: “You wanna go wail on our pecs?” he asks sincerely.

Bryant then awkwardly and unsuccessfully tries another cheesy pick-up line: “Are you tired? Because you’ve been running through my mind all damn day.” And things end on a slightly scandalous note, as Gosling attempts to recreate the scene from “Titanic” where Jack teaches Rose how to spit like a dude. Only, he accidentally spits on a baby and then frantically runs away.

Is it too early to ship Gosling and Bryant, or should we just wait and see if they continue building this epic bond on this weekend’s “SNL?!”
