Vincent Margera, who was known as "Don Vito" on MTV's "Viva La Bam" and was often the target of his nephew Bam Margera's pranks, died Sunday (Nov. 15), TMZ reports. He was 59.

Margera had reportedly struggled with liver and kidney failure for years and fell into a coma in October. He had woken from the coma by Sunday, Rolling Stone reports that his health had deteriorated recently.

He became one of the hallmarks of "Viva La Bam" -- a spinoff of "Jackass" that starred Bam, Ryan Dunn, Brandon DiCamillo, Chris "Raab Himself" Raab and other "Jackass" alums and ran from 2003 to 2006 -- due to his incoherent speech patterns, which he would deliver quickly and often while shaking his head furiously. His words would often be humorously, incorrectly subtitled on the screen.

Bam pranked Vito a lot. That was basically the point of the show. But Vito seemed to take it in stride, most of the time.

After the show ended, Vito ran into some legal trouble after an August 2006 incident where he allegedly groped two 12-year-old girls at an autograph-signing session in Colorado. He was arrested and found guilty the following year of two counts of sexual assault of a minor, which barred him from using his Don Vito persona.

Margera's death is the first to hit the "Viva La Bam" crew since Dunn died at 34 in a car accident in 2011.
