EXCLUSIVE: 'Captain America' Star Talks 'Avengers,' Looks Forward To 'Friction' With Iron Man

Earlier today, we kicked off Summer Movie Preview Week here on MTV Splash Page with an exclusive new image from "Captain America: The First Avenger" — but that's not all we have for you from Chris Evans' upcoming debut as the star-spangled superhero.

In a recent interview with MTV News, Evans looked beyond "Captain America" to Marvel's upcoming blockbuster team-up movie "The Avengers," which began filming this week.

"Even in the first 'Captain America' movie, they bring him into the modern world — that does happen," Evans told MTV News when asked how the character's dual presence in both World War II and the modern era will factor into Marvel's movie universe. "In 'The Avengers,' they start to explore this. He's a fish out of water, a man not in his time, and he's just coming to terms with the way the world is now and how it's changed since the '40s."

As for which fellow Avengers he's most looking forward to sharing a screen with, Evans said exploring Cap's dynamic with Tony Stark will be "pretty fun."

"I think there's certainly a dichotomy — this kind of friction between myself and Tony Stark," he explained. "They're polar opposites. One guy is flash and spotlight and smooth, and the other guy is selfless and in the shadows and kind of quiet. . . and they have to get along. They explore that, and it's pretty fun."

Keep it locked to MTV Splash Page all week for all this and more from "Captain America: The First Avenger" and the rest of this year's biggest comic book movies!
