Chris Hemsworth Reveals Mike Tyson's Contribution To 'Thor'

Chris Hemsworth may believe that Thor's hammer and costume sell the movie, but only he knows what it's like to engage in battle bearing those props. In fact, he also knows what it's like to wield Mjolnir while learning from former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

"First, we looked at the comic books and the posturing, the way [Thor] moves and fights, and a lot of his power seems to be drawn up through the ground," the actor told MTV News. "We talked about boxers, you know, Mike Tyson, very low to the ground and big open chest and big shoulder swings and very sort of brutal but graceful at the same time, and then as we shot stuff things became easier."

"The costume's pretty limiting with the movement, so I had a lot of things to work around," Hemsworth explained.

If Marvel plans on keeping the hero around for Joss Whedon's "The Avengers," don't expect to see those constraints weigh too heavily, though. Hemsworth is a strong guy, after all, and the Norse God of Thunder doesn't go down very easily.
