Chris Colfer Hopes 'Struck By Lightning' Inspires You

If you're a Chris Colfer fan, you're probably well aware of the fact that in the very little free time he has from shooting his Fox musical series "Glee," the multi-talented star somehow managed to write a screenplay and star in its big-screen adaptation. That little passion project is called "Struck by Lightning" and as star Sarah Hyland announced yesterday, it is currently available for immediate viewing and consumption via download on iTunes or OnDemand.

MTV News was lucky enough to get a few minutes of Chris' time recently to ask him what he thinks we'll love most about the story and whether he'll continue screenwriting/acting at the same time.

""Struck by Lightning" is a story about an ambitious teenager who is killed, and the story is told in a series of flashbacks from his point of view. I think it's a very dark, funny and touching movie, if I do say so myself," Chris said with a smile. "I hope [audiences] really enjoy Carson [the main character, played by Chris] and what he represents. I really hope that maybe the movie inspires them to have aspirations of their own."

The fact that Chris served as the screenwriter and lead in "Lightning" makes us feel really lazy sounds like an awful lot of work, so did he enjoy the process and amount of time he put into it enough to keep writing more stories and hopefully making them into movies?

"Absolutely," he said. "I would only do it again because the result of this venture turned out so great, but it was a process. It wasn't a miracle, it was definitely not overnight, it wasn't easy, but I was very glad that we were able to do it."

Do you plan to get "Struck by Lightning"?
