Kaley Cuoco Gets Her Ex’s Tattoo Removed — And She’s Not The Only One
It’s the No. 1 rule of getting a tattoo: Avoid anything related to your significant other, because you just never know how long a relationship will last. But, let’s face it, being in love makes you do crazy things — which is why it’s great news that tattoos aren’t necessarily forever.
Just ask Kaley Cuoco, who revealed Tuesday (Nov. 24) that she has covered up the tattoo she got to commemorate her marriage to Ryan Sweeting, which ended earlier this year. Cuoco previously had Roman numerals of their wedding date inked on her back, but thanks to Studio City Tattoo in L.A., she’s now replaced with a big ass moth.
The “Big Bang Theory” actress first shared a photo of her mid-tattoo session, writing a cautionary note to fans: “Thank you @nero_sct @studiocitytattoo for helping me right my wrongs.. ?? note to self- do not mark your body with any future wedding dates ? #under30mistakes #donttakeyourselftooseriouslykids.”
She then shared the final result: a big black moth strategically covering up her “mistake.” She cheekily captioned it, “the deep, meaningful, larger than life meaning behind this beautiful piece of ink, is..... It covered the last one.”
Cuoco is just the latest celeb who’s opted to remove ex-related tattoos from their bodies post-split. Take a look at these six other examples:
Angelina Jolie
Angie got her then-husband Billy Bob Thornton’s name tattooed on her shoulder, but after their divorce in 2003, she replaced it with the coordinates of her family’s birth locations.
Heidi Klum
The supermodel got her husband Seal’s name tattooed on her arm on their fourth wedding anniversary, but it’s been slowly fading since their split in 2012.
Johnny Depp
Depp and Winona Ryder were one of the “It” couples of the ‘90s: a relationship commemorated by the “Winona Forever” tattoo on his right shoulder. But after they split in 1994, he got it altered to “Wino forever.”
Eva Longoria
The actress got not one, but THREE tattoos for her ex-husband Tony Parker: the word “nine” on the back of her neck in honor of his jersey number, the date of their marriage (07-07-07) on her wrist, and supposedly his initials in a hidden location on her body. Two years post-split, she started to get all of them removed.
Marc Anthony
The Latin singer had the word “Jennifer” tattooed on his wrist for his once-flame Jennifer Lopez, but has since covered it with more ink.
Iggy Azalea
In July, Iggy reportedly started the removal process for the A$AP Rocky-inspired tattoos on her hand (she has the words “live,” “love” and “A$AP” inked on the inside of her fingers). Just in time for her upcoming wedding to Nick Young.
Consider this post your warning to think long and hard before getting bae’s name scrawled across your bod.
