A few days ago, we took a moment to applaud the oft-overlooked inventiveness of Rihanna's personal style. From the shirt-shorts to the bandana bikini, RiRi is schooling the world in the reimagination of clothing, including this second look we've peeked from her upcoming "We Found Love" music video. This total philosophy of repurposing old to make new (which BTW is sooo Urban Outfitters: Urban Renewal) takes shape in this look as a bralette/paper-bag waist skirt from Jeremy Scott's Spring 2012 collection.

While the runway look is styled with retro cowgirl pigtails, rosy cheeks and lips, lacy ankle socks, and platform saddle shoes—a kind of "Lolita at the ranch"—Rihanna ties short voluminous curls up with a head bandana, slicks on a bold red pout, tattered tights, and a pair of seriously amazing leopard print creepers with neon orange soles. The shoes appear as though she's just tread through black paint or tar, though the jury's still out on whether that's part of the OG design or a special RiRi DIY touch. The joutfit appears to be made from an old pair of overalls, judging from the shoulder strap fasteners and the still-intact front fly at the bottom of the skirt's hem. HOWEVER, to Jeremy's credit, this may very well be all original material constructed in such a way to appear repurposed (the man is a genius and fashion mastermind, after all). We caught up with him backstage after his Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week show, where he talked about the collection's inspiration and gushed about dressing some of his favorite pop stars of the moment, Rihanna included!
