Ja Rule's had an ill hip-hop career and even though he's still an active MC, there's something he feels is missing from the genre. He revealed that during an interview with Complex about "Put It On Me," which came out in 2000.

"The legacy of 'Put It On Me' is no fear, all heart," Rule explained. "I think that's what's missing right now in hip-hop. Motherf--kers are too scared, too worried about what this one or that one thinks. Just go in and make records from the heart, man."

Irv Gotti -- the head of Murder Inc. -- said Rule's influence is still alive in rap today.

"After Ja Rule, there's so much more collaborations and duets with singers," Gotti said. "Murder Inc. and Ja, our imprint on music today is still there."

Ja's still making music, might get into more movies and he's also on TV more often these days thanks to "Follow The Rules," a new docu-series on MTV. To promote the show, he recently remade the opening credits for "Family Matters." Check that out below.
