A Step-By-Step Guide To Glowsticking/ Rave Culture According to Demi Lovato's 'Neon Lights' Video
Demi Lovato goes glowsticking in her "Neon Lights" video.
Confession time: I've never actually been to a rave. (Well, unless you count an ill-fated Bushwick warehouse experience a few New Year's Eves ago.) That aside, the closest I've come to raving is by watching after-school special-type programming (think: "Dawson's Creek" or the original "90210"), where someone inevitably parties too hard, blacks out/barfs, and learns a *very important life lesson.*
And as much as we value those precious '90s after-school specials, we gotta say that we quite prefer Demi Lovato's just-released "Neon Lights" video, which is a synth-filled, strobe-lit, drug-free whirlwind of glow-in-the-dark dance paradise. And since we never properly learned how to rave, let's use Demi's new clip as a handy how-to!
1.) Take a nice, hot shower/bath before heading out the door.
2.) Apply that scene-appropriate, glow-in-the-dark, black-lit makeup!
3.) Once at the club, dance like there's NO TURNING BACK.
4.) FLIP THAT BLUE HURRR.

5.) If you start seeing double, make friends with your doppelganger.
6.) Also, make friends with everyone on the dance floor. BECAUSE YOU'RE ALL JUST SO BEAUTIFUL.
7.) Make it rain!
(No, literally.)
8.) At the end of the night, take another bath. Because, well, you just exchanged sweat with 10,000 other people.
