'The Shannara Chronicles' Set To Overtake NY Comic Con

Find out what's on tap in the Big Apple!

The magical characters of "The Shannara Chronicles" will be leaving the Four Lands and descending upon the Big Apple for this weekend's New York Comic Con.

The much-anticipated MTV series, based on Terry Brooks' beloved books, will follow three young teens destined to complete a heroic quest thousands of years after the end of civilization.

The show isn't set to debut until January, but fans can get a jump-start beginning on Friday, October 9 when series stars Poppy Drayton (Amberle), Ivana Baquero (Eretria) and Manu Bennett (Allanon) plus Brooks himself attend a signing at the Random House booth (number 2204) from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Those who want to attend the event should visit the booth on Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to noon; during those times, a total of 150 tickets will be given out.

The very next day, the foursome will be joined by actors Austin Butler (Wil) and John Rhys-Davies (King Eventine), along with executive producers Al Gough, Miles Millar and Jonathan Liebesman, for a panel discussion from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. The event, which will take place at Empire Stage 1-E, will host a whopping 2,200 fans who'll be treated to a trailer with brand-new, never-before-seen "Shannara Chronicles" footage.
