Surprise! Bella Hadid Is Training For The 2016 Olympics

The model is looking to take her talents to Rio in a surprising sport.

Saying that Bella Hadid’s racked up a damn fine resume is the understatement of the century. Since making her runway debut for Tom Ford in February, she’s shot to the top of the model “It Girl” list by scoring a Victoria’s Secret contract, a Balmain campaign and spots on runways from Paris to New York. Oh yeah, and she’s only 18.

But now, Bella’s gunning for an even more impressive achievement: an Olympic medal.

Along with being Gigi Hadid’s younger sister and The Weeknd’s girlfriend, Bella is also a nationally-ranked equestrian. She told Porter magazine that she’s been riding horses since age three, and now has her sights set on the 2016 Olympics on Rio.

“My devotion stemmed from my mom’s love of horses,” she said. “I have been riding since I could walk and the fact that my mom knew everything about horses really helped my passion grow.”

But riding isn’t merely a second nature hobby for her; she says it’s also a therapeutic stress reliever.

“You know how every model is like, ‘I do yoga.’ Well, I find horses have the same effect,” she said. “You have to put your ego aside and concentrate on making the horse do the things you want it to do, and move in the way you want it to move.”

Bella’s reportedly hoping to compete in three equestrian categories: eventing, dressage and jumping. And we’re sure she’ll look just as glam in gold, silver or bronze as she does in literally anything she ever wears.
