Here's What #SmartGirlsAsk Celebs On The Red Carpet Before The Emmys

Submit your questions on Twitter before tonight's ceremony!

On Sunday night (Sept. 20), the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards will hit your television, and right outside the Microsoft Theater in LA, glamorous celebs will hit the red carpet before they make their way inside. As it tends to go, reporters will ask the TV stars, writers and directors about their projects, but more predictably, they'll also ask the most pervasive red-carpet question of all: "What are you wearing?"

In the past year, Amy Poehler's Smart Girls organization and The Representation Project (along with other initiatives) have done a lot to propel that conversation forward. Their joint #AskHerMore campaign during the 2015 Oscars stressed that yes, there are plenty of other points of conversation to engage in, even when you're standing inches from a celebrity clad in fabulous and dazzling outfits.

Tonight's Emmys broadcast is no different.

Throughout last week, Twitter users have submitted their questions by using the hashtag #SmartGirlsAsk -- a new campaign begun by Smart Girls, the Television Academy and Twitter that, like #AskHerMore, aims to foster more conversation on the red carpet past just the attire (which, to be fair, is still a big part of the spectacle; it's just shouldn't be the only part).

The questions are unsurprisingly enlightening. Here are some of the best.

"Girl Meets World" star Rowan Blanchard

"How To Get Away With Murder" creator Shonda Rhimes

"Selma" director Ava DuVernay

"Wentworth" actress Danielle Cormack

Journalist Katie Couric

The Malala Fund

U.S. Secretary Of Labor Tom Perez
