'90s Kids, Rejoice! 'Rugrats' And 'Hey Arnold!' Might Be Getting The Reboot Treatment

Stop everything: there might also be a "Victorious" movie in the works.

Nobody panic, but there might be a "Rugrats" revival on the way.

In an age where '90s TV revivals, reboots and reimaginings are all the rage, Nickelodeon is looking to hop aboard the nostalgia train and reboot some of their most iconic properties for a new generation.

As Nickelodeon's President of Content and Development, Russell Hicks, told Variety, "We are looking at our library to bring back ideas, shows that were loved, in a fresh new way."

In the '90s, Nickelodeon was the undisputed titan of kids' TV with shows like "Rugrats," "Hey Arnold," "The Adventures of Pete & Pete," "The Ren & Stimpy Show" and "Doug." Now, Nick is hoping to recapture some of that same magic.

While Hicks declined to comment on which shows are under consideration for the reboot treatment, it's safe to say the network will have an easier time reviving a beloved Nicktoon than trying to get Ariana Grande to sign another contract.

"Rugrats" seems like a safe bet, as it has already spawned three movies and a sequel sequel series, "Rugrats: All Grown Up!" That being said, would Nick reboot the series with a new baby squad of Rugrats? Like, the tiny spawn of Tommy Pickles and Kimi Finster, perhaps? (OK, maybe we're overthinking this just a bit.)

With Kel Mitchell back on Nickelodeon, starring in the network's new comedy "Game Shakers," "Kenan & Kell" seems ripe for a reunion, as well. Under Nick's new plan, some of your favorite shows might not come back as series, but rather, in other formats, like a movie or special.

Back in March, Dan Schneider -- the creator of so many Nickelodeon classics, from "All That" to "iCarly" and "Drake & Josh" -- asked his Twitter followers which reunion movie they'd want to see. At the time, it seemed like Schneider was just trolling, but now, we know what he was doing.

With that in mind, it's entirely possibly "Victorious" might get the ending it deserves in a reunion movie, or the cast of "Drake & Josh" could get together for a primetime special. OMG just think of all the possibilities!
