Nick Jonas' New Song 'Levels' Is A Bouncy Banger: Listen

'Levels' is exactly as Nick promised: a 'good-time jam.'

Nick Jonas dropped his latest jam on Friday (Aug. 21), just in time for the weekend.

"Levels" fuses funk with a club beat, layering the former Jonas Brother's vocals with his spiraling falsetto ad-libs. It's a quick, under-three-minute tune, but it's enough to inject you with a little party, if you need it.

Jonas will be performing "Levels," the first single off his upcoming sophomore album, at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards Pre-Show on Sunday, August 30 at 8 p.m. ET. He's also nominated for his first solo VMA in the Best Male Video category for his video for “Chains.”

“I think that the thing that will surprise people the most about the song is the dance element to it,” Nick told MTV News last week. “With ’Jealous’ and even ’Chains’ there was an ability to dance to them, but it was very specific. For this one I feel like it’s a no-brainer dance, get up and have a good-time jam.”

The video for "Levels" will be about VMA Day on Aug. 30.

Watch Nick take over the VMA pre-show stage on August 30 before the big show goes down live from L.A.’s Microsoft Theatre at 9 p.m. ET.
