Smell You Later: A 'Fresh Prince' Reboot Is Happening

Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool.

Sorry, did you think the '90s ended back in the year 2000, when boy bands reigned supreme and The CW was still The WB? Because as of today, we're officially pretty sure that the golden decade never left: "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" is getting a reboot.

TVLine reports that Will Smith is on board to produce the reboot, which would put a "new spin" on the show while keeping its fish-out-of-water format. Smith's production company Overbrook Entertainment is currently finalizing their pitch -- which probably involves fewer flat top haircuts and Air Jordans -- and will soon begin shopping it around to various networks.

Not to jinx anything, but due to the explosion of '90s projects like "Fuller House" and the rumored "Xena" reboot, we're pretty sure someone will bite. The original series ran from 1990 to 1996 on NBC, and there's still no word on whether this reboot will introduce an entirely new cast of characters, or do it sequel-style with Carlton, Hilary and co. coming back for more.

(And for what it's worth, there's also still no word on whether or not Will was dead the entire time.)
