Kesha Proves You Have The Power To Change The World With Makeup

#BeCrueltyFree

You probably don't think your beauty product choices affect anyone outside of yourself, but the truth is that tons of cosmetic companies are secretly testing your favorite lipsticks, deodorants and perfumes on animals–and it's killing tens of thousands of them. Currently, Congress is trying to pass The Humane Cosmetics Act, which will prohibit "animal testing for all cosmetic products manufactured or sold in the U.S."

Kesha has hopped onboard to spearhead The Humane Society's #BeCrueltyFree campaign, which urges people to use animal testing alternatives. "Once I was educated about the hidden cruelties that lurk behind some cosmetic products companies, I knew I had to take action and do everything in my power to end this inhumane practice of testing our cosmetics on animals," she said in a press release.

Her PSA shows how the beauty products you use on a daily basis might actually have animal cruelty "lurking" behind them, and that "it’s easy to avoid buying cosmetics tested on animals by only buying cruelty free products. The power lies with us and we don’t need to harm animals to be beautiful! My hope is that with the help of the HSUS’s #BeCrueltyFree campaign, we can ignite a cruelty-free revolution and that the United States and other countries join the 30+ others who have already banned egregious cosmetic animal tests."

Coty, Lush, Paul Mitchell, Seventh Generation and The Body Shop all have already endorsed this cruelty-free beauty movement, but it's up to us to actually make happen. Go here to find out how to support the cause.
