MANCHESTER, Tennessee — One of the most beautiful things about music festivals is the way they gather so many different artists together in one place. An even more beautiful byproduct of that? You get unlikely surprise collaborations like the one that happened on Bonnaroo's Which Stage Friday night (June 12): Earth Wind & Fire brought Kendrick Lamar and Chance The Rapper on stage.

The K.Dot and Chance cameos came as a surprise not just to the Bonnaroo audience, but even to Chance himself, as he revealed in a series of tweets the rapper posted Saturday (June 13): "So I'm just minding my own business camping at @Bonnaroo, Outta nowhere legendary bassist Verdine White of @EarthWindFire invites me and @kendricklamar to come on stage and freestyle with the band."

The rappers didn't just take the stage to groove with The Elements, as Chance says, they graced the audience with a freestyle each.
