A Sci-Fi Hero Inspired Hayley Williams' Character In Taylor Swift's 'Bad Blood'

The Crimson Curse is SO badass.

GULF SHORES, Alabama -- Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" music video is FINALLY here, guys! Watch out, Katniss Everdeen, because Hayley Williams is basically ON FIRE as "The Crimson Curse" in the vid, which dropped Sunday, May 17 during the Billboard Music Awards. MTV News caught up with the Paramore lead singer at Hangout Music Festival on Friday, May 15 to talk about her inspiration behind her character.

When Taylor asked Williams to join the music video's star-studded cast -- including big names like Cara Delevingne, Ellie Goulding, Jessica Alba, Kendrick Lamar, Lena Dunham, Mariska Hargitay and Zendaya -- Williams knew exactly who would be her spirit animal for the vid.

"[Taylor] was like, 'I just need you to pick sort of like a fighting style and like a name,'" Williams said in the abov interview. "I instantly was like I want to be like Leeloo ... and that's pretty much the way we went with it."

Leelo

Leeloo is a fiery-haired humanoid character from the 1997 science fiction film, "The Fifth Element." In the movie, she teams up with a taxi driver to save the world from evil forces. Casual.

"All day was a dream [shooting the music video]," Williams said. "I still text [Taylor] ... freaking out about the fact that I got to play basically a character that I'm obsessed with."

And she looked badass doing it, too.
