Have mercy! No, seriously, have mercy — you can't tell me that John Stamos is old enough to play a grandpa. That's just not okay.

But nope, there's no mercy today, not for Stamos fans, or for anyone who grew up in the 90s currently wrestling with their own mortality. Fox has officially given the green light to "Grandfathered," a new comedy starring the "Full House" actor (and future "Fuller House" actor), in which he plays — that's right — a grandfather.

I wish we could, Joey. I wish we could.

According to TV Line, "Grandfathered" sees Stamos playing "a bachelor who's life is upended when he discovers he's a father — and a grandfather." Certainly a bit of a double-whammy for the character, and it's a triple-whammy if you bring us into the equation, as we're forced to realize that the once and future Uncle Jesse Katsopolis is 51 years old.
