First they made us swoon with their up-all-night convos and “Dirty Dancing” homage in 2011’s “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” Then they brought the heat and intensity to 2013’s “Gangster Squad.” Now, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are in negotiations to rekindle their amazing on-screen chemistry for “La La Land,” a romantic musical from “Whiplash” director Damien Chazelle.

The project was originally intended for “Whiplash” star Miles Teller and Emma Watson, but they have since moved on to other projects; the latter for another little movie musical you may have heard of, “Beauty And The Beast.”

Plot details from The Wrap reveal “La La Land” is a contemporary love story set in Los Angeles with an old-fashioned, song-and-dance musical vibe. Stone would be playing “aspiring actress Mia, who’s lonely and desperate to fit in,” while Gosling would take the role of “cocky yet charismatic jazz pianist Sebastian.”

It sounds pretty dreamy, especially with this duo attached to it. The deal isn’t finalized for either Gosling or Stone, but Deadline reports that “all sides are working to make this happen,” and production would begin in the fall. AKA, keep your fingers crossed and your juju strong so we can witness more amazing Gos-Stone moments like this.
