Carly Rae Jepsen Just Dropped Her Album Title And It's Emotional

No, really, it's E·MO·TION.

Carly Rae Jepsen is back with her new album, and it'll be out this summer!

The singer announced her album, E·MO·TION, on Twitter on Friday (April 10).

Jepsen's lead single off E·MO·TION is "I Really Like You," the super-catchy earworm with an '80s vibe and a Tom Hanks video to go along with it. The singer told MTV News that the era is the inspiration for her album, and a very special lady gave her the revelation: Cyndi Lauper.

“I was listening to the songs and something kind of hit me, just like, this is when pop was at its finest,” Carly told us. “It’s like the purest, emotional '80s and I want to make an album that hits at that because the songs are so timeless. I would put out 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' today and I wouldn’t change a bloody thing, so I think that’s where it all began for me where I was like, ‘alright, thats what I’m gonna do.'”
