Aww, One Direction Did The Cutest Thing At Their First Show Without Zayn

The boys and their fans paid tribute to Zayn in an adorable way at 1D's show in Manila.

After the utterly devastating news that Zayn Malik is taking a break from One Direction’s On The Road Again Tour, fans were left with a TON of questions. Would 1D carry on with their tour as planned? Who would take Zayn’s solos? Would it all be one big disaster?

On Saturday (Mar. 21), we finally got some answers, when the boys took the stage as a foursome in Manila, Philippines -- and we’re happy to that it looks like it couldn’t have gone better.

The show kicked off with what might possibly be the world’s cutest display of friendship. Directioners might remember that, when Zayn missed a 1D performance on the “Today” show in Orlando last November, Liam Payne introduced the band simply by their first names and not as One Direction. According to onlookers last night, they did the same thing, which made fans feel ALL THE FEELS.

As for how the the boys tackled their setlist, it appears they managed just fine by taking turns filling in for Zayn.

Harry Styles took Zayn’s verse in “Little Things,” seamlessly harmonizing with Liam and gifting us all with this hilarious facial expression.

Harry also tackled Z’s solo on “Story of My Life.”

And finally, Liam achieved the impossible by bravely taking on Zayn’s all-heavenly high note during “You & I.”

According to concertgoers, fans paid tribute to Zayn by crafting paper masks of his face and chanting his name during the show. Fans around the world were so impressed that the hashtag #NOCHILLPHILIPPINES starting trending on Twitter.

At the end of the night, Harry sweetly thanked the crowd, saying, “Thank you so, so much for being our fans. We love you. We love you very, very much.”

While we obviously hope Zayn will rejoin the tour soon, Directioners can rest easy knowing that his bandmates are carrying on just fine and missing him just as much as we are!
