Turns out, One Direction weren't feeling the "odd" sound for their latest album, Four.

Odd meaning, Fall Out Boy. Pete Wentz recently told the Daily Star that his rock group met up with the boy band and had a "great session," but unfortunately the songs weren't used.

"Last time we were in London we wrote with the guys in One Direction, It was a great session but I don’t know if Fall Out Boy writes what One Direction wants to sing," he explained. “There’s a certain area of odd that we can stake a place in, but it’s like we have the language of twins. Maybe it’s too odd for One Direction because they didn’t end up using the songs this time.”

Key word there: "this time." So does that mean that the guys will take these songs, and maybe that Harry Styles/Meghan Trainor collaboration, into their fifth album? Fingers crossed because a FOB and 1D song, while on the surface may look odd, I have a feeling it could sound pretty great.

But it doesn't seem like FOB, who just released their latest album American Beauty/American Psycho, are too upset that their songs weren't used on the album since they now have their sights set on another British singer, Ed Sheeran.

“Ed is a lyrical guy and he tells these intricate interesting stories that you wouldn’t expect from pop music," Wentz said. "I’m not sure he would ever take the job but it’s his if we ever need a singer.”
