Victoria Justice Explains How She Sinks Into 'Eye Candy''s Darkness...And How She Gets Out

It's not easy to stay strong in the face of the show's grisly murders, she says.

At the end of a long work day, an average Joe might complain about a tough-as-nails boss, a promotion that never happened or the dissolution of Casual Friday. For Victoria Justice, clocking out means trying to forget that you had to pull your phone out of the mouth of a freshly slaughtered murder victim.

The "Eye Candy" star, who's acknowledged filming the show has been a huge departure from her comedic TV past, finds herself regularly running through scenes beside corpses, gallons of splattered blood and the looming fear that her character Lindy Sampson is constantly on the chopping block. So how does she deal? Welp, in the video below, she cites Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn as her go-to coping mechanisms.

"As an actor, sometimes, I have to substitute my own family or people that I love and care about to get to that dark place," she explains, and says extracting herself from the melancholy can be tough. "When I get home from work, I have to kind of, like, leave the darkness there. And I usually end up doing that by, like, going home and watching 'Project Runway' with my mom or hanging out with some of the cast."

Unfortunately, Lindy doesn't have the luxury of leaving her troubles at the office, so how does Justice think the hacker is able to handle it all? Check out the interview to find out, and be sure to tune in to the next "Eye Candy" episode Monday night at 10/9c!
