Wait, Ed Sheeran Premiered A Brand-New Song On 'Cougar Town'?!

Gather yourselves, Sheerios, and listen to the track below.

Life is like a box of chocolates, meaning you never know what you're gonna get. Sometimes, it's nothing more than a tired "Forrest Gump" reference. Other times, you're blessed with a brand-new song from Ed Sheeran.

This is one of those "other" times.

On Tuesday (January 13), the "Thinking Out Loud" singer tweeted that a new song of his would debut during that night's episode of "Cougar Town" on TBS. The show's star, Courteney Cox, also took to Twitter to drum up excitement for the "never before heard" track from her "pal."

Sidenote: Did you know that Ed and Courteney are actually super-good friends? Like, he used to crash at her California beach house back in the day. He even introduced her to her fiancé, Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid. Their friendship is so unforeseen, and I very much enjoy knowing about it. I hope you do, too.

Anyway, Ed's as yet untitled new song is a comforting return to his coffeehouse, guitar-driven roots -- more "Lego House" than "Sing."

"And we will drive until these tires wear out/ And we will write all our memories down/ And we will cry until this fire is drowned/ Well, darling, I/ I will keep you warm/ Well, darling, I/ I will take you home," he sings.

Listen to the minute-long snippet of the song that aired during "Cougar Town" below.
