Carly Rae Jepsen Is Back In The Studio With Some Big Producers

In the studio with Dev Hynes working on her favorite new song.

When Carly Rae Jepsen kept telling us "Call Me Maybe" we never thought it would take this long for the phone to ring again. But after making us wait more than two years for the follow-up to her smash 2012 breakthrough, Kiss, it looks like Carly is seriously getting down to business on her as-yet-untitled third release.

On Monday morning (January 12), she posted a studio pic revealing that she'd just recorded "one of my fave songs today," sitting along side Blood Orange singer/songwriter Dev Hynes and producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Charli XCX, Haim, Beyoncé).

She's also seemingly logged some time with Bleachers singer Jack Antonoff over the summer.

Does that mean something new is imminent? We don't know yet. But we do know this: like pretty much everyone else, she also revealed she has a new "big crush," Golden Globe golden boy Eddie Redmayne.

As far back as June 2013, Jepsen said she was already thinking about the new album, telling Billboard that she'd begun work on it the day after Kiss was turned in. "[I have] three songs from the batch I've written on the road that I think are keepers," she said, adding that she planned to work with producer Benny Blanco, Kiss collaborators Ryan Stewart and Josh Ramsay and a bunch of new Canadian producers.
