Yeah, sure, you know Eddie Murphy for being a comedic legend, but he's no stranger to making music.

Of course, there was his 1985 single "Party All The Time," off of his debut musical album, How Could It Be. He followed that up with 1989's So Happy, and then another disc, Love's Alright, four years later. And then he got his reggae on last year, on "Red Light," with Snoop Lion.

And Eddie is back at it. This week, he released "Oh Jah Jah," a reggae single that's not only catchy, but includes some timely lyrics. "The world's gone crazy/ Police in the streets shooting down black babies," he sings.

If the song takes off, we may get some new stand up from the veteran comedian, too.

"You know what, if I drop one of these tracks and it jumped off, I would go out and do some sh--," Murphy told Rolling Stone about possibly touring. "My fantasy I always be having when I think about getting onstage is to do everything. If I came back and did stand-up again, I can't just be like the other standup comics. To have a real hot band, play some tracks for about 40 minutes, the curtain drops and then you do an hour of jokes? That's a unique-ass show. [Laughs] That's the ultimate vision."

He also says he just finished filming a movie, "Cook," and that he has recorded so much music over the last two decades that he could "put out an album in any genre."
