St. Vincent opts for the avant-garde look in her new video for “Birth In Reverse.”

The Willo Perron-directed clip finds the indie singer-songwriter, who was just nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, riffing poetically on the guitar in front of galactic backdrops.

The auteur's multiple close-up of Annie Clark as she shreds the hell out of her instrument come off as a sort of homage to the late great Jimi Hendrix.

“Birth In Reverse” was originally released last year as the lead single off of her self-titled fourth solo album, which dropped in in February.
