Azealia Banks Criticizes Iggy Azalea For Being Silent About 'Black Issues,' Iggy Fires Back

Azealia called Iggy out, and Iggy responded.

Azealia Banks isn't one to hold her tongue (or fingers) and not tweet out her opinions on other artists. She's taken aim at Iggy Azalea before, back when the Australian rapper landed on the cover of the 2012 XXL Freshman issue, and she was at it again on Wednesday -- this time coming at Iggy for not speaking up about the shooting death of Michael Brown and subsequent fallout in Ferguson, Missouri and across the nation.

"its funny to see people Like Igloo Australia silent when these things happen... Black Culture is cool, but black issues sure aren't huh?" she tweeted yesterday evening. "If you're down to ride with us bitch you gotta RIDE ALL THE WAY. Don't just be down to ride Black D--k..... If you with us you WITH US!!!!"

Things quickly shifted from the original critique, though, as Banks got more explicit.

"LOL... IM PETTY, but its so true, ugh, that wannabe black girl sh-- makes me wanna throw a jar of my piss at her LMFAOOOO," she added. "Like, fill a jar with piss and mayo and eggs and just dump that sh-- on that bitch's head LMFAOOOOOOO."

She also criticized the media for "trying to move igloo in on what Nicki has established. Nicki is a hard-working rap-BEAST. stop trying to degrade and BELITTLE Our culture with this f--king kkk iggy sh--."

To close her diatribe, the Harlem native challenged "shoe-shining coon T.I." -- who has exchanged words with the rapper in the past -- to respond.

We haven't heard anything from Tip yet, but Iggy did come to her own defense early Thursday (December 4) morning.

"Theres more to sparking a change than trolling on social media," she wrote. "World issues shouldnt be used as a poor excuse to promote fan battles. Make sure you do something to let YOUR government know how you feel when something is unjust., not JUST your followers on twitter...Make sure you sign petitions, hit the streets and protest or donate to groups helping to support and rebuild the community too."

She then posted a link titled, "5 Ways You Can Help Ferguson, Its Protesters, and Mike Brown's Family," but was upset by the lack of engagement.

"Also the fact the actual link i posted about helping has the LEAST RT's on my timeline lets me know your real concern is not awareness," she wrote. "respect and love to all who did RT the link about ways to get out there and actually do something. you guys rock, nighty night."
