So Who Is That Mysterious Voice Narrating The New 'Star Wars' Trailer?

It's not Benedict Cumberbatch.

Star Wars fans have been running wild with the theory that Benedict Cumberbatch, who has been angling to be part of JJ Abrams’ "Star Wars: The Force Awakens” since it was announced, is the narrator in the new trailer.

“There has been an awakening... have you felt it?”

While the voice sounds eerily familiar to that of the “Star Trek Into Darkness” actor, Hitfix is reporting that Cumberbatch is not the man responsible for the voice-over.

So who is the man behind that voice then?

Good question. Lucky for us, we don't have to use the force to get an answer.

According to the Hitfix's reporting, the voice was verified as Andy Serkis (“Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes”), who will play a “pivotal role” in the film, but will not have a lot of screen time. However, as of press time, this hasn't been officially reported by the franchise itself.

So does this mean Cumberbatch is not involved in the film?

Unfortunately, it’s looking more and more like the man who grew up loving George Lucas’ iconic cinematic creation won’t be in the movie.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hits theaters December 18, 2015. Haven't seen the trailer yet?? Watch it here.
