Melissa McCarthy Is Going To Play A Disney (Fairy) Princess

She'll play Tinker Bell in an action-comedy movie.

Get psyched, because two of your favorite things -- Disney princesses and Melissa McCarthy -- are about to be combined in a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup-like mash-up of delicious awesomeness.

Are you ready? McCarthy will next play fairy pal Tinker Bell.

Deadline reports that McCarthy is working with director Shawn Levy, who you know from the "Night at the Museum" franchise, "This Is Where I Leave You," "Date Night" and some episodes of TV's "Animorphs," among others, and screenwriter Nicholas Stoller, who's responsible for "Sex Tape," "The Five-Year Engagement" and both the recent "The Muppets" movies.

McCarthy will star as Tinker Bell (before you dispute that "Disney princess" label, let's remember that Tink was in the Disney princesses lineup once upon a time, before Disney created their special fairies line. You can't just take princesshood away from a person fairy.) in a comedy-adventure movie to be distributed by Fox.

That's about all we know about the project for now, but we can't wait to see McCarthy with a pair of wings and, hopefully, her trademark sense of humor.
