Rihanna Cancels Her Victoria Secret Performance, But For A Great Reason

'Phresh off the runway.' Literally.

Heartbreaking news for fans of high fashion, pop music, and all things Rihanna.

The "FourFive Seconds" singer has officially cancelled her performance for this year's Victoria Secret Fashion Show, and People reported on Tuesday (Nov. 3) that the decision was made in hopes of dedicating more time to finish Anti, the pop star's latest album-in-progress.

After the raving reviews following Rihanna's 2012 Victoria Secret Fashion Show performance set, fans were greatly anticipating the singer's return to the throne -- lest we forget how hard her "Diamonds" performance slayed.

Alas, fans will have to wait at least one year longer.

Ellie Goulding will step up to the plate in Rihanna's absence, performing alongside previously announced performers Selena Gomez and The Weeknd. With Goulding's new album dropping this Friday (Nov. 6), we might expect some never-before-seen performances from the "On My Mind" singer's repertoire.

One RiRi disappointment aside, the new triple threat is sure to make for a spectacular night of pop music and fashion. With any luck, Rihanna will return next year with an all new bundle of hits to bring to the VS stage.

The fashion show will broadcast Dec. 8 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
