Ariana Grande And Jessie J Are Remaking Brandy And Monica's 'The Boy Is Mine' -- Are We Excited?

Rodney Jerkins tapped the pop stars for a revamp of the '90s track.

"The Boy is Mine" is easily one of the best R&B songs of the 90s -- the music video was amazing, too, shout out Mekhi Phifer -- and now Brandy and Monica's smash single is about to get a major update.

Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, who produced the original song, has tapped Ariana Grande and Jessie J to record a new version.

In an interview with HitsDailyDouble, the producer extraordinaire explained that the remake is part of a greater effort to celebrate his 20 successful years in the industry. “Next year is my 20-year anniversary and I’m doing a very special project,” he explained. "[With] some originals as well as reimagined hits. So for example, I’ll do the 'The Boy Is Mine' with Ariana and Jessie J.”

And that's just he beginning. After working with Sam Smith on "Stay With Me," Jerkins also reached out to him to work on the upcoming project.

"Sam is doing 'It’s Not Right It’s Okay' by Whitney Houston, which [he] told me was the song that made him want to sing," Jerkins added. "When I asked him if he’d be a part of this project he was like, 'No one else can do that song but me!' This is a project I’m really looking forward to."

We're curious if Brandy and Monica are excited about this remake. Are you? Hit the poll below.
