'Big Eyes': See The Trailer For The Most Un-Burton-Like Tim Burton Movie

Here's lookin' at you, movie.

Feast your eyes on this: The first trailer for "Big Eyes," directed by Tim Burton and starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz. The movie is based on the true story of husband and wife Margaret and Walter Keane, and the dispute over their art that ultimately tore them apart.

Even if it didn't come with all the Oscar dog whistles intact -- Adams and Waltz are not unfamiliar to Academy voters, to say the least, and the trailer even uses the score for Best Picture-winning "Silver Linings Playbook" -- we'd be really excited to see this movie. It's the most un-Tim Burton-looking Tim Burton movie of all time, the assembled cast is top-notch, and there's a near ocular stabbing by way of a salad fork. What more could a moviegoer ask for?

Check out the trailer above.

"Big Eyes" hits theaters December 25.
