Why Does Talking About 'Pitch Perfect 2' Make Elizabeth Banks Shake?

Old faces, new faces, lots of singing.

None of us can aca-wait for "Pitch Perfect 2," the follow-up to 2012's surprise hit about a bunch of a cappella-singing college girls and their notes both high and low. So when MTV News got the chance to catch up with Elizabeth Banks at Toronto International Film Festival, we just had to ask about the nitty gritty details.

In addition to producing and appearing in the film, as she did with "Pitch Perfect," Banks is making her directorial debut with "Pitch Perfect 2." The additional responsibility of taking the wheel of the sequel to a beloved movie excites her so much she starts physically shaking.

"I directed a movie, a big movie," she said. "I had a lot of fun and I'm really excited for the film and – I immediately started shaking like uhhhhh."

The familiar faces of cast members such as Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will return for the sequel, but a notable new addition is Hailee Steinfeld, who plays "the little sister of the group" and, Banks assures, has an enviable set of pipes.

"I like sequels, I've made many of them myself, and I love when you get to spend more time with characters that you love," Banks said of her decision to return to Barden University's a cappella scene.

"Pitch Perfect 2" will sing its way into theaters on May 15, 2015. For more from Banks, check out the interview below.
