Ja Rule Promises 'Family Tradition Will Never Be The Same' In New Show 'Follow The Rules'

Get a sneak peek of new docu-series, which follows the Grammy-nominated rapper and his brood.

In the heyday of Murder Inc., all bets were off for rapper Ja Rule. But now, 13 years after his smash hit "I'm Real" shot to Billboard's top spot, he and his family will aim to follow the rules...as best they can, at least.

The Grammy-nominated entertainer and his brood will star in the upcoming MTV docu-series "Follow the Rules," MTV announced today, and Ja Rule's ready for you to see him -- and the traditional American kin -- in a new light. "I am truly honored and excited to be partnering with MTV and 51 Minds," he said in a press release. "Family tradition will never be the same, bitch!"

It seems the network feels the same about him, too.

"Ja Rule is the modern day reality rap star version of Bill Cosby’s role from 'The Cosby Show,'" President of MTV Programming Susanne Daniels said. "We’re excited to be in business with him and his delightful family."

With three generations tucked under Ja Rule's roof (he and his wife, Aisha, live with their kids and both of their mothers), calm will be tough to come by. And if the man of the house's teenage sons, Jeffery Jr. and Jordan, aren't enough of a handful, his eldest daughter Brittney will definitely keep him on his toes before she returns to college for her sophomore year.

Take a look at what's to come from "Follow the Rules" in the sneak peek below, and keep up with MTV News for more info!
