Megan Fox Doesn't Care If You Don't Like Her In 'Ninja Turtles'

'Someone's always going to be upset about something.'

With Reporting by Chris Kim

If you're mad that Megan Fox is April O'Neil in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," that's news to Megan Fox.

Speaking with MTV News, Fox opened up about her philosophy on the community surrounding fan-driven properties like "Ninja Turtles." In her mind, she's more than aware that there are fans who both love and loathe her participation in "Ninja Turtles" as April O'Neil, but in order to get the job done, she needs to block all perspectives from her mind except her own.

"Someone's always going to be upset about something," she said. "When you're [making] a movie like this and making it live-action, there are things where you'll have to depart from the original material a little bit. People will be disappointed, but I think people will be overwhelmed with how exciting and amazing and how fresh and how true to the original this is — but you can't please everyone all the time."

In fact, Fox stays away from the Internet almost entirely — except for her "shopping addiction, so I don't know what the reaction was," she said. But her interactions with fans on the streets (and in grocery stores, apparently) have been nothing but positive.

"I've never had more people come up to me to tell me they're excited about a movie than this one," she said. "Nothing I've been a part of before has had that sort of reaction."

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" arrives on August 8.
