That whole "if you don't have anything nice to say" adage is roundly ignored by the Internet on a daily basis and we, the people, are usually told, "Don't feed the trolls." Well, Gabourey Sidibe decided to do just that when folks flocked to Twitter to mock her Golden Globe dress, and we're guessing that meal is tasting a lot like crow.

"To people making mean comments about my GG pics, I mos def cried about it on that private jet on my way to my dream job last night. #JK," tweeted the "American Horror Story" star, who stepped out on the red carpet Sunday night in a custom-made dress by Daniel Musto -- who also apparently bled all over her frock pre-awards.

The Oscar-nominated actress was referring to a cadre of vocal folks on Twitter who decided that they weren't down with the dress, making snide comments like "Geez! She looks like the chubby ghost from Casper," and, "I get it Gabourey Sidibe you tried to do the 'hour-glass' look in that dress. You just missed it about 10 hours."

Although Sidibe can clearly stand up for herself, fans soon flocked to her defense -- before and after she sent her shut-down of a tweet. "I'm so in love with @GabbySidibe and her confidence. Now, THATS true beauty!," tweeted @Cyn_Santana, while @BeyLuvsMe said, "I wish I was half as confident as @GabbySidibe. Damn."
