Watch Britney Spears' Many (Midriff-Bearing) Appearances On 'TRL'

MTV News takes a look back at every one of Spears' appearances on 'Total Request Live.'

In 2003, Britney Spears was declared the First Lady of "TRL" at that year's "TRL" Awards. It's the perfect way to sum up Ms. Britney Jean Spears, given just how many times she appeared on MTV's long-running program.

Ten years later, as Britney releases her eighth studio album, Britney Jean, MTV News is taking a look back at every "Total Request Live" episode she appeared on over the course of her career.

She kicked off her reign as the show's First Lady with her first appearance on December 18, 1998. The then 17-year-old up-and-comer was making waves with her debut music video for the school girl-themed "...Baby One More Time."

In the years after that first appearance, she turned up on the popular show 13 more times, almost always in a belly-baring top. The singer often showed off her goofy side and even revealed personal details about herself, including her relationship with her "first puppy love boyfriend," Justin Timberlake, and her crush on "sex pot" Brad Pitt. Heck, she even debuted her pierced belly button on the show back in 2000.

But let's not forget the time she interviewed Redman and Method Man with Melissa Joan Hart by her side in 1999, fresh off appearing in the "(You Drive Me) Crazy" music video together.

She never performed on the show until November 2003, when she took the stage in the middle of Times Square to perform tracks off her album In the Zone, including "Me Against The Music" and "I Got That (Boom Boom)" with the Ying Yang Twins.

So get your nostalgia on, click play and remember old-school Britney Jean, our eternal pop queen.
