Orlando Bloom, Miranda Kerr Announce Split

The couple confirms they have parted ways after three years of marriage.

Orlando Bloom and supermodel Miranda Kerr have split after three years of marriage, the couple has confirmed.

"In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months. After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation," a rep tells E!.

The statement continues, "Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family." A rep for the actor had not responded to MTV News' request for comment by press time.

Despite the split, Kerr and Bloom had been photographed together on September 19 at the premiere of Bloom's Broadway run of "Romeo and Juliet," where he stars alongside Condola Rashad.

"When I saw Orlando on Broadway in 'Romeo and Juliet,' I was blown away," the former Victoria's Secret model told Cosmopolitan. "For someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it every day, six days a week -- I have so much respect for him. We don't run lines though. We keep that very separate. That would be like me asking him to teach me how to catwalk."

In that same interview, Kerr also opened up about her philosophy on how to keep a romance going. "Don't feel like you have to do and be everything," she explained. "Let the man do some things for you, because if he cares for you, he will want to. When I get home, I'm not the boss like I am at work -- I slip into a more feminine role. I take everything off and put on my Stella McCartney silk robe. I'll put on a red lip or red nails, and it lifts my mood. Sexy underwear also gives you a spark. I collect underwear from my travels. Lace, lingerie, body suits ... they're like souvenirs."

Bloom, 36, and Kerr, 30, [article id="1644279"]married in July 2010[/article] after being engaged for a month. They had been together since 2007. They [article id="1655765"]welcomed their son, Flynn[/article], into the world in January 2011.
