Wu-Tang Clan Anniversary Album 'Coming Up,' Method Man Promises

'We got the Wu-Tang anniversary album coming up, we're working on that now,' Method Man announces during weekend concert.

Looks like the Wu-Tang Clan will be releasing that reunion album after all -- that is if Method Man has his way. During a recent episode of "RapFix Live," Raekwon told us he was just waiting to get the business right before committing to the new Wu LP, which would time perfectly with the group's 20-year anniversary. Mr. Meth, on the other hand, is all in.

"November 10 of this year will be our 20th anniversary officially. How many brothers you know kept a job for 20 years?" Tical asked the crowd jokingly at a Hollywood performance over the weekend. "We got the Wu-Tang anniversary album coming up, we're working on that now."

RZA, the leader of the Wu, [article id="1695761"]first proposed[/article] the idea of an anniversary album, which will mark the release of their debut, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), back in November 1993. The producer/MC said that if the now-eight member crew relinquished complete creative control to him, that they could craft a formidable comeback LP.

The group's last album, 8 Diagrams, released in 2007, was a bump in the road creatively for the crew. It was a point that Raekwon was vocal about when the LP was released. As far as the new Wu album is concerned, the Chef wants to see it come to fruition; he just wants everyone in step.

"The bottom line is: Of course I want to see a Wu-Tang reunion. Of course. Who wouldn't?" [article id="1702307"]Rae said[/article] last month. "I just want everything to be right, the business. When we made a lot of our great music, it was because we were in harmony. You cannot put guys together if there is no harmony, and on top of it, we're doing business. As a man with children, I have to always look at that. It's bigger than sometimes just the thought of it -- the fact of it, it just gotta make sense."

Ghostface Killah is down with the idea as well and revealed to us last year that he too has begun recording for the comeback LP. "I believe in [RZA] because if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be standing here today, regardless of what," [article id="1696640"]GFK said[/article]. "He still got this same hungry for this Wu sh--."
