French Montana On His Divorce: 'It Happens To The Best'

'I never like to mix my family with the business,' French Montana tells 'RapFix Live' in regards to his recent divorce.

If French Montana had his way, he'd keep his rap life and his private life separate. Unfortunately for the Bronx, New York, MC, his divorce from his wife of several years has spilled out into the blogosphere, and now it has become a talking point.

"It happens to the best," French said when he appeared on Wednesday's [article id="1694197"]"RapFix Live."[/article]

On September 7, the Bad Boy spitter revealed to the Boombox that he and his wife of five years are going through a divorce. "You around so many beautiful women, that's a conflict too," he told the site. "It's just about finding somebody that understand the game, what you're into. But then on the flip side of the coin, you gotta understand their game, what they into ... There's a flip side to everything."

Montana's wife reacted over Twitter, charging that the rap star abandoned his family. French doesn't see things quite the same.

"As long as I take care of my family, make sure my son is good. I feel like that's a weight off my shoulder, you know, I could sleep good," he told "RapFix" host Sway Calloway about the split. "It's just kinda like you're moving and you're not the same person, 'cause you're so busy doing what you're doing. You get conflicts."

French, who was a little reluctant to speak on the matter, says he'd rather just keep his private life private. "I never like to mix my family with the business. I feel like that's why you never see me post pictures of my son or anybody. That's a part of me that keeps me sane," he said. "Once you get exposed into the Internet world, I feel like it becomes everybody's business."
