Rihanna Unveils Diamonds Tour Dates After Big VMA Night

Video of the Year winner, who set off MTV Video Music Awards with a scorching performance, begins U.S. leg of her tour in March.

Fans might have gotten a taste of what Rihanna is cooking up for her just-announced 2013 Diamonds World Tour during Thursday's 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. The cropped-topped singer opened the show with an eye-catching performance of her A$AP Rocky remix of "Cockiness (Love It)" and "We Found Love."

The tour is set to kick off in March in Buffalo, New York, before making its way around North America with stops in Chicago, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, according to a press release. This North American leg of the tour will wrap up in May at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, which should make her mentor Jay-Z happy. He's the [article id="1687345"]director of Brooklyn Arena LLC[/article], the company that owns Barclays.

Additional dates are expected to be added. Fans can pick up tickets early for this group of shows during the pre-sale, which begins September 14. Rihanna has not yet announced who will be hitting the road with her next year.

The announcement of her tour comes hot on the heels of her big night at the VMAs. [article id="1693350"]Her scorching performance[/article] followed the singer as she made her way from a throne, and strutted alongside A$AP, for the "Cockiness" portion of the performance to a full-on rave, as she danced alongside her fans with Calvin Harris in the DJ booth. Rihanna might have performed at the top of the show, but by the end of the night, she went home a winner, nabbing [article id="1693365"]Video of the Year for her "We Found Love" clip.[/article]
