After weeks of breathless anticipation among his fans and very brief glimpses of what to expect, [article id="1624819"]"Michael Jackson's This Is It"[/article] opens in select markets on Tuesday (October 27) and wide on Wednesday. And to hear [artist id="1102"]Jackson[/artist]'s longtime friend and confidant, legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor tell it, the film was well worth the wait.

Taylor nearly wore out her Twitter account account late Monday heaping praise on the film, which she said she saw for the first time last week and which she said she was told not to discuss until Monday.

"It is the single most brilliant piece of filmmaking I have ever seen," she wrote in the first of more than a dozen posts on the topic. "It cements forever Michael's genius in every aspect of creativity." Taylor, 77, continued with her praise, adding, "To say the man is a genius is an understatement. He cradles each note, coaxes the music to depths beyond reality ... I wept from pure joy at his God-given gift. There will never, ever be the likes of him again."

And she didn't stop there: Taylor, who was not only a longtime friend but also his occasional companion at major events, also wrote, "You owe it to yourselves and your loved ones to see this again and again. Memorize it and say to yourselves, 'I saw genius in my lifetime.' ... I loved genius in my lifetime. God was so good to me. I will love Michael forever and so will you, if you don't already ... God blessed him and squandered nothing, but loved it all. Michael knew how to put together every tone, every nuance to make magic ... And we have this piece of film to remind us forever and ever that once there was such a man. God kissed him."

There appeared to be no end to the ways in which Taylor expressed her awe at the movie, with one tweet complaining that the word genius was not even enough to describe Jackson's gifts. "I wish my vocabulary encompassed what I feel," she lamented.

Encouraging fans to go see the film "again and again," Taylor said the message of love and acceptance in Jackson's songs such as "Man in the Mirror" and "We Are the World" made him something of a "modern day prophet and it beseeches us to listen to him and what he sang."

There were also kind words for [article id="1624516"]director Kenny Ortega,[/article] whom Taylor praised for doing a "masterful job" of culling 100 hours of rehearsal footage down and capturing the hard work that went into creating one of Jackson's over-the-top tours. The footage in the film shows him preparing for what was scheduled to be a 50-date comeback residency series at the O2 Arena in London.

"From A to Z you get Michael's input on every level," she said. "Michael's genius at work with the dancers. Mr. Ortega catches Michael in his every mood. ... You see in front of your eyes Michael's genius blossoming on this piece of film thanks to Kenny Ortega and his crews. I truly believe this film should be nominated in every category conceivable."
