Juelz Santana Arrested For Terroristic Threats, Weapon Possession

Rep questions police account of altercation.

Despite [article id="1619473"]Juelz Santana's rep's claim[/article] to MTV News that the rapper had not been charged in the altercation with the mother of his son on Tuesday, police said on Wednesday (August 26) that Santana was indeed charged.

A spokesperson for the Teaneck, New Jersey, police told MTV News that the MC (real name: Laron James) was charged with making terroristic threats and possession of a weapon. That weapon is said to have been a kitchen knife from his house. Police also say they were called to the house by the woman and that she claimed Santana threatened to harm her.

Captain Dean Kazinci of the Teaneck Police Department told The Associated Press that the woman told police a verbal dispute became physical. He said Santana told officers the woman was the aggressor, and she had the knife.

On Wednesday, [artist id="1237281"]Juelz's[/artist] rep disputed some of those claims, saying that it was in fact neighbors who alerted police; the rep said she was unaware of the terroristic threat charge. A different source close to Santana also told MTV News that the incident had been "blown out of proportion" and disputed the police department's claims.

Santana posted a $5,000 bond, was released on Tuesday and was back home in the afternoon. Police said he is due back in court on September 9.

Santana could not be reached for comment at press time.
