Ashton Kutcher and wife Demi Moore called up a few friends — and teamed up with MySpace and Katalyst Pictures — to produce the star-studded "Presidential Pledge" video and help encourage community service.

In the clip, Jason Bateman, Dakota Fanning, Nicole Richie, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Kevin Connolly, Lucy Liu, Cameron Diaz, Molly Sims and other stars pledge their service to Barack Obama and encourage others to do the same by going to USAService.org and finding a cause they want to get involved with.

"We are honored to be working with MySpace to rally the entertainment industry to answer President-elect Barack Obama's call to service," Kutcher said in a statement. "The 'Presidential Pledge' is a platform for people across the nation and throughout the world to make a first-person commitment of service to our new president, articulating a specific intent or action to become an agent of positive change."

A slew of celebrities make all different kinds of pledges to better the country. "I pledge to volunteer more of my time to help children battling serious illnesses," Eva Mendes offers.

The man behind the video, Kutcher, pledged "to always represent my country with pride, dignity and honesty." Ashlee Simpson and Joel Madden pledged to be good parents, while Diddy promised to turn the lights off when he leaves the room.

After the celebrities make their pledges, they ask that others continue the work by making their own pledges. "My wife and I, since we met, had been looking for a charitable cause that we can stand in front of," Kutcher told the Los Angeles Times. "We've stood behind a bunch of them, but we wanted to do something where we could make a quantifiable change in the world. Someone came into our office and had the idea of doing pledges for Obama, and instantly it was like, 'We have to do this.' "

"Be the Change: Live From the Inaugural" will air live on MTV on Tuesday, January 20, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. MTV News will have wall-to-wall coverage of the event and of the scenes in Washington, D.C., New Orleans and Kenya in the days leading up to the event and in the days that follow.
