If you happened to see those White Stripes tour dates that were making their way around the 'Net yesterday (they got no play here at good ol' MTV News), it'd behoove you to forget them because they're incorrect. In fact, according to a statement from the band's management, they "hold no semblance of reality" (oh, snap!) and most reporters "simply found and printed the tour routing the band did in support of their 2005 release Get Behind Me Satan." The Stripes -- who will release their sixth album, Icky Thump, in June -- have yet to confirm any North American routing, but the statement did say that when the duo hit the road, they'll play "all 10 provinces and three territories of Canada, as well as the remaining 16 states of the U.S. [they] have yet to play ... [plus] a few major markets." It was also stated that the WS tour will start in Tennessee, which would correspond with their only confirmed North American appearance, June 17 at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. ...

Christina Aguilera, Prince and Dave Matthews are performing as part of the Traveling Through Life concert series, three shows exclusively open to Citi/AAdvantage credit card holders. Aguilera will play at San Diego Civic Theater on May 21, Prince will play Boston's Orpheum Theater on May 19 and Matthews and guitarist Tim Reynolds will play Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theater on April 20. Metallica will be first major rock act to play the newly renovated Wembley Stadium in London. The band will plug in on July 8 for their first-ever headlining gig at the legendary venue -- they played as part of a tribute to late Queen singer Freddie Mercury in 1992 -- and promised in a message on their Web site to bring along "a few of our friends" to celebrate. ... Harry Potter has gone green. All 12 million copies of the U.S. edition of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will be printed on paper with a minimum of 30 percent post-consumer waste fiber, Scholastic Inc. announced Tuesday. The publisher also confirmed that 65 percent of the 16,700 tons of paper used in the first printing will be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which promotes responsible forest management. It's the largest purchase of FSC-certified paper to be used in the printing of a single title. ...

John Mayer will be the headline performer at the 10th anniversary celebration concert for VH1's Save the Music foundation, which works to restore music education in U.S. public schools. The gala, emceed by "Project Runway" presenter Tim Gunn, will be held September 20 at New York's Lincoln Center. A group of students from schools that have received VH1 Save the Music grants will perform as a 50-piece orchestra. ... Victoria, British Columbia, will celebrate Nelly Furtado Day on Wednesday. Mayor Alan Lowe will present the singer with an official proclamation and a gift at Centennial Square at noon. Furtado kicks off the Canadian leg of her world tour that night at Victoria's Save On Foods Memorial Centre. ...

Ashley Tisdale of "High School Musical" fame will release "Not Like That" as the second single from her debut album, Headstrong. "It's actually coming from a point of view of being in this business and trying to say that fans, and people that aren't fans who have their opinions about me, often see the glamorous side of this career," Tisdale told MTV Radio. "It's really saying it's not like that and I'm just the girl next door. There's always somebody who either loves you or hates you, and you just have to have a thick skin." ... Chris Cornell has lined up an 11-date tour in support of his upcoming album Carry On, due June 5. Angels & Airwaves will headline a free mtvU Earth Day Concert at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as part of a reward for students at the university winning the mtvU GE ecomagination Challenge. For the national competition, college students were asked to come up with innovative ways to make their campus more environmentally friendly, and the group Biodiesel@MIT -- which consists of more than a dozen students -- won for its solar-power refueling station and processor that converts vegetable oil into biodiesel. YouTube is hopping on the awards bandwagon. The popular video-sharing site announced plans Monday to host the first YouTube Video Awards to celebrate the best user-created videos of 2006. Among the seven categories are: Most Creative, Most Inspirational, Best Series, Best Comedy, Musician of the Year, Best Commentary and Most Adorable Video Ever. YouTube users have until Friday to vote for their favorites from a list compiled by YouTube, with the winners announced Sunday. Winners will be prominently featured and receive a trophy. Among the nominees are OK GO, Smoosh and Lonelygirl15. ... Stan Lee Media, an Internet publishing firm that hasn't been affiliated with the comic book legend for seven years, filed a lawsuit against Marvel Entertainment on Thursday, claiming ownership of Lee characters including Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk and the Fantastic Four, AP reports. The company says it is entitled to 50 percent of the millions of dollars Marvel has made licensing the characters for film. Marvel called the suit "without merit," and Lee said in a statement that he does not support the "baseless" suit. ... Jury selection began Monday in Phil Spector's trial for the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson. After two days of screening prospective jurors, lawyers will take a three-week break, AP reports, returning April 9 for a pretrial hearing. Jurors will be questioned individually on April 16. The jury is expected to be seated April 30, when the trial, which will be televised, is expected to start.
