If you happened to see those White Stripes tour dates that were making their way around the 'Net yesterday (they got no play here at good ol' MTV News), it'd behoove you to forget them because they're incorrect. In fact, according to a statement from the band's management, they "hold no semblance of reality" (oh, snap!) and most reporters "simply found and printed the tour routing the band did in support of their 2005 release Get Behind Me Satan." The Stripes -- who will release their sixth album, Icky Thump, in June -- have yet to confirm any North American routing, but the statement did say that when the duo hit the road, they'll play "all 10 provinces and three territories of Canada, as well as the remaining 16 states of the U.S. [they] have yet to play ... [plus] a few major markets." It was also stated that the WS tour will start in Tennessee, which would correspond with their only confirmed North American appearance, June 17 at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. ...

Christina Aguilera, Prince and Dave Matthews are performing as part of the Traveling Through Life concert series, three shows exclusively open to Citi/AAdvantage credit card holders. Aguilera will play at San Diego Civic Theater on May 21, Prince will play Boston's Orpheum Theater on May 19 and Matthews and guitarist Tim Reynolds will play Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theater on April 20. Tickets for all shows went on sale Tuesday (March 20) at noon ET at PrivatePass.Citi.com.

Metallica will be first major rock act to play the newly renovated Wembley Stadium in London. The band will plug in on July 8 for their first-ever headlining gig at the legendary venue -- they played as part of a tribute to late Queen singer Freddie Mercury in 1992 -- and promised in a message on their Web site to bring along "a few of our friends" to celebrate. ... Harry Potter has gone green. All 12 million copies of the U.S. edition of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will be printed on paper with a minimum of 30 percent post-consumer waste fiber, Scholastic Inc. announced Tuesday. The publisher also confirmed that 65 percent of the 16,700 tons of paper used in the first printing will be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which promotes responsible forest management. It's the largest purchase of FSC-certified paper to be used in the printing of a single title. ...

John Mayer will be the headline performer at the 10th anniversary celebration concert for VH1's Save the Music foundation, which works to restore music education in U.S. public schools. The gala, emceed by "Project Runway" presenter Tim Gunn, will be held September 20 at New York's Lincoln Center. A group of students from schools that have received VH1 Save the Music grants will perform as a 50-piece orchestra. ... Victoria, British Columbia, will celebrate Nelly Furtado Day on Wednesday. Mayor Alan Lowe will present the singer with an official proclamation and a gift at Centennial Square at noon. Furtado kicks off the Canadian leg of her world tour that night at Victoria's Save On Foods Memorial Centre. ...

Ashley Tisdale of "High School Musical" fame will release "Not Like That" as the second single from her debut album, Headstrong. "It's actually coming from a point of view of being in this business and trying to say that fans, and people that aren't fans who have their opinions about me, often see the glamorous side of this career," Tisdale told MTV Radio. "It's really saying it's not like that and I'm just the girl next door. There's always somebody who either loves you or hates you, and you just have to have a thick skin." ... Chris Cornell has lined up an 11-date tour in support of his upcoming album Carry On, due June 5. The former Audioslave frontman begins the tour April 6 in Las Vegas and will hit cities including Minneapolis, Chicago, New York and Dallas -- in addition to the Toronto (April 14), Boston (April 19) and Philadelphia (April 22) dates reported last week. The trek wraps up May 2 in Los Angeles. ...

Ric Ocasek, Fountains of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger and former Girls Against Boys member Eli Janney are among the producers on Motion City Soundtrack's Even If It Kills Me, due July 17. The follow-up to 2005's Commit This to Memory also features guest spots from Max Bemis of Say Anything, Rachel Minton of Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer and Shawn Harris of the Matches. ... New Found Glory have "amicably parted ways" with their label, Geffen Records, the band announced in a statement. Their next release, From the Screen to Your Stereo Part 2, featuring covers of classic movie themes, will be released on Drive-Thru Records. The band plans to put out a new album in 2008, via a label to be determined. ...

Godsmack will hit the road in May for a run of U.S. gigs, primarily along the East Coast. Eleven shows have been booked so far, with more to be announced in the coming weeks. Those gigs are set for Memphis (May 5); Mobile, Alabama (May 6); Jacksonville, Florida (May 8); North Charleston, South Carolina (May 9); Tampa, Florida (May 11); Pompano Beach, Florida (May 12); Orlando, Florida (May 13); Atlanta (May 15); Charlotte, North Carolina (May 16); New York (May 18); and Upper Derby, Pennsylvania (May 22). ... "Weird Al" Yankovic's "Trapped in the Drive-Thru," an 11-minute animated video that riffs on R. Kelly's epic "Trapped in the Closet," will be available exclusively on MySpace through April 15.

Kanye West was scheduled to perform at Oak Lawn, Illinois' H.L. Richards High School on Monday (March 19) to help students celebrate an extensive gym makeover and scholarship program presented by Miami Heat star/ Richards alumnus Dwyane Wade and T-Mobile Sidekick. The pep rally will also celebrate the school's stellar boys-basketball season. Wade, who dislocated his shoulder last month, will appear via satellite. ...

Chill out, "High School Musical" fans -- the hugely popular Disney franchise is lacing up its ice skates, The Associated Press reports. The touring production, featuring world-famous skaters performing to music from the soundtrack, will make stops in at least 100 cities over the course of the next year. "Disney's High School Musical: The Ice Tour" hits the ice August 31 in Lakeland, Florida. ...

Angels & Airwaves will headline a free mtvU Earth Day Concert at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as part of a reward for students at the university winning the mtvU GE ecomagination Challenge. For the national competition, college students were asked to come up with innovative ways to make their campus more environmentally friendly, and the group Biodiesel@MIT -- which consists of more than a dozen students -- won for its solar-power refueling station and processor that converts vegetable oil into biodiesel. The team is also being given a $25,000 eco-grant to help the school reduce its energy costs. The A&A show will air in late April on mtvU. ...

Gwen Stefani tells MTV Europe that she believes people are "more interested in me having a baby than anything I've ever done in my entire career" -- but she doesn't really mind the attention shift to her son, Kingston. Robin Thicke is in talks to write his first film score, for the movie "This Wednesday," in which his wife Paula Patton ("Idlewild") will star as a female pimp. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Patton is slated to play a character named Wednesday, the offspring of a pimp father and prostitute mother who struggles to survive on the streets of Philadelphia. ... Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx is scoring a soundtrack to accompany a book he recently wrote called "The Heroin Diaries. "I don't know if it's ever been done before," Sixx said. "It's pretty obscure. Emotionally, it follows the book." ... Holding back Pitbull's early recordings is going to cost TVT Records $9.1 million. The independent label was ordered Wednesday to pay Slip-N-Slide Records -- the label home of Trick Daddy and Rick Ross -- $2.3 million in compensatory damages and $6.8 million in punitive damages for blocking the release of Welcome to the 305, an album Pitbull recorded before he signed with TVT, The Miami Herald reports. YouTube is hopping on the awards bandwagon. The popular video-sharing site announced plans Monday to host the first YouTube Video Awards to celebrate the best user-created videos of 2006. Among the seven categories are: Most Creative, Most Inspirational, Best Series, Best Comedy, Musician of the Year, Best Commentary and Most Adorable Video Ever. YouTube users have until Friday to vote for their favorites from a list compiled by YouTube, with the winners announced Sunday. Winners will be prominently featured and receive a trophy. Among the nominees are OK GO, Smoosh and Lonelygirl15. ... Stan Lee Media, an Internet publishing firm that hasn't been affiliated with the comic book legend for seven years, filed a lawsuit against Marvel Entertainment on Thursday, claiming ownership of Lee characters including Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk and the Fantastic Four, AP reports. The company says it is entitled to 50 percent of the millions of dollars Marvel has made licensing the characters for film. Marvel called the suit "without merit," and Lee said in a statement that he does not support the "baseless" suit. ... Jury selection began Monday in Phil Spector's trial for the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson. After two days of screening prospective jurors, lawyers will take a three-week break, AP reports, returning April 9 for a pretrial hearing. Jurors will be questioned individually on April 16. The jury is expected to be seated April 30, when the trial, which will be televised, is expected to start.
